What it is — and the line that defines it
Men's esthe (メンズエステ) are private-room relaxation salons: oil massage, aroma, low light, a therapist in elegant loungewear, sessions in 60–120 minute blocks. Legally they're ordinary massage-adjacent businesses — not licensed adult venues — and that's the most important sentence in this article. The product is deep relaxation with an aesthetic of intimacy, and legitimate salons guard that legal line carefully, because their existence depends on it.

How booking actually works
Here's the friction that keeps most visitors out: salons book by phone or LINE, in Japanese, often same-day. The website lists the day's schedule (出勤 — who's working); you pick a therapist, course and slot, and you message. Walk-ins mostly don't exist — the room is only prepared when someone is booked into it.

- Send the script below via LINE — or read it slowly on the phone.
- Arrive five minutes early. First-timers fill a short form; your hotel name works as the address.

Session etiquette in five lines
- Shower first — it's part of the session flow, not optional hygiene theater.
- Paper underwear will be provided. Wear it. This is not a suggestion.
- Silence is fine; small talk is fine; your therapist sets the temperature.
- Tipping isn't expected.
- Drunk customers are refused at the door — go before you drink, not after.
